What was the highlight of Mangia's Himera Resort

Wonderful

I have read the reviews before, but some are exaggerated from my perspective. The staff was nice and we could communicate partially in English or French, mostly in Italian. There are several French guests and you can have Italian classes each day if you want. The beach is mostly with sand and partially with stones (10-15%), so you can avoid them. The food quality was good, and there was different food in each of the 7 evenings we stayed. It was a nice vacation overall.

Really nice resort for families. All inclusive give you opportunities to explore the sea food and also classic sweets..

The area is far from town. I would train people mainly in the pool bar more smiling:)

What was the highlight of Mangia's Himera Resort

It is a nice resort with many great amenities and amazing views.

The room was clean. The staff was very positive and helpful. There was a lot of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can book tours in the hotel. There is a little shop even there so you can buy something if you like.

There are mostly french tourists so the staff is speaking firstly french and than Italian, english is very rare. At some occasions the staff spoke only French. If you book a tour outside the hotel be prepared (if you are an english speaker) to google all the information or somehow translate the tour guide. They said the tour guide will be speaking English which she did not (at first she tried but quickly gave up and tried telling us only the important information). The room we had was looking right on the pool so we did not have our windows open because of noise.

Great stay, lovely place to rest and relax

The property it is gorgeous, very clean, lovely pool side, lovely green areas. The staff was very nice and always checking on guests. Food was very good for our taste and need.

The mattress on the bed was quite out of fashion and not comfortable, after the first two nights we couldn’t rest properly and had back pain, my partener has hernia also and did not made him any good at all.

beautiful rooms, comfortable, very clean lot of reviews mentioned noise, we did not hear anything and felt the rooms were peaceful and quiet easy check-in and check-out process, reception staff very kind

a couple of times the restaurant staff made us feel almost as if we were bothering them when needing help, we also noticed french speaking hosts seem to receive better treatment here Quality of pasta/pizza (practically cake with cheese on top) quite poor given we were in Italy

There are better resorts in the area for the same price

Beautiful hotel, very comfortable room, very clean.

Not very welcoming entrance to the hotel: un-manned gates with no direction on how to enter the resort; no information on where to park. I arrived at 9:30 in the evening, after dinner service had finished (at 9pm which I feel is probably too early for a resort), and there was no room service or alternative food options on site. The staff were unwilling to help with recommendations on somewhere to grab some food, and there was nothing else close by. The room and bathroom was lovely, however, the shower gel and shampoo provided in the wall dispensers smelled foul. Breakfast was absolutely fine, plenty of choice and several drinks stations with fresh fruit juice and coffee. I’m not fussy at all when it comes to hotel provisions, I usually stay in hostels and have no complaints, but for a room I paid a premium for, I did expect better. I ended my stay early here, opting to stay in a budget room at the Grand Palladium - less than a km up the road - which was a significantly better experience.

Not bad, not very good.

Everything was super clean. Also beautiful garden, pool area, beach.

Very poor breakfast. Some mornings there were no even cheese left. Very expensive bar. After one cleaning, we left without towels.

It's a great place for the whole family, but with problematic coast.

Very friendly stuff, offering lots of activities on-site for their guests of different age. Some programs continued till mid-night. Safe area for kids. Direct access to the beach. A big parking for cars. There are different tours being offered for groups to visit Palermo and other places. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner in a buffet style - the food was never boring and always of a great quality! Those who prefer this kind of vacations will definitely appreciated the facilities, the highest level of service and how everything is organised! However, if you came for a sea, then be aware - coast line is far from perfect. This is the only reason I'm giving 9 out of 10 to the overall rate of our stay.

A beach and water in this particular area. It was a feeling that it's few degrees warmer that it should be (maybe because of a factory or power plant, which is located a bit west of Himera's beach) . It's not as clean as on the east side (Naxos, Taormina area). But the biggest problem for us was an actual entrance to a water - the coast line is full of stones, which are not always visible and covered with silt. We swam just couple of times during our stay of 4 days. Swimming shoes are highly recommended!

The baked goods and coffee were good. Prepared food wasn’t great. “Scrambled eggs” were hard boiled eggs from the previous day chopped up with butter added. They looked gross. The main courses of the other meals also weren’t great. The housekeeping staff pushed ahead of me with two separate laundry carts on the elevator when I was trying to check out. I had to wait for two different housekeeping staff to make two separate trips on the elevator before I could. As a general rule, hotel staff should let all guests go first on the elevator, especially if they have a baggage cart.

- Swimming pool and beach area is great. Enough sunbeds and umbrella’s for everyone. - Rooms are very spacious and clean. One of the best rooms we have ever had in Italy. And clean!! - Very friendly and responsive staff.

- The average age of the guests here was certainly 65+ so we didn’t really fit in. - The dinner buffet is quite expensive, the breakfast buffet wasn’t of great quality but OK overall. - The music / entertainment downstairs is loud and keeps going until 1.00. If you’re a loud sleeper, ask for a room far from the entertainment area.
